Audit logs

Audit Logs provide administrators with a complete, exportable history of all Issue Template actions — including usage, configuration changes, and errors — ensuring transparency and control.

🧩 What Are Audit Logs?

Audit Logs record all critical events related to Issue Templates in Templify. Each entry captures what happened, when it happened, and who performed the action, allowing administrators to trace template usage and configuration changes over time.

Logged events include both successful operations and errors, making Audit Logs a reliable source of truth for operational insight.

🔍 What Is Logged?

Templify Audit Logs record all key actions that affect how Issue Templates work and are used across the organization. Each entry clearly shows what changed, who triggered the change, and when it happened.

The following events are logged:

  • Creation and updates of Issue Templates Includes creating new templates and modifying existing ones (e.g. name or issue type changes). This provides a clear audit trail of who changed the team’s working standards and when.

  • Enabling or disabling templates Tracks when a template is made available or hidden, ensuring visibility into who controls template access across the organization.

  • Applying a template to an existing issue Logs real usage of templates on live Jira issues, including whether the operation completed successfully or failed.

  • Automatic issue creation from templates Records automated executions (e.g. via Automation Action or background processes), including execution mode and final result. This ensures full traceability of automated workflows.

  • Changes to template rules and configuration Covers updates to dynamic fields, skipped fields, and global configuration settings — clearly showing who modified template behavior and when.

Each log entry includes:

  • Timestamp

  • Action type

  • Template identifier

  • User

  • Execution result (success or error)

This guarantees a complete and reliable audit trail for both operational monitoring and compliance needs.
